Turret Restoration Project
Commissioned by Edward F. Searles (1841-1920) and designed by Music Hall architect Henry Vaughan (1845-1917), the battlements ashlar granite turrets and piers along the Spicket river at the Music Hall's southern property line where built around 1900.  They have witnessed fires, floods, vandalism, and a hundred years of ever-changing New England weather.  These detrimental conditions have eroded the mortar and released the granite blocks, reducing the once mighty structures to unsightly rubble.
(Click here to see before and after photographs of one of the turrets.)

The Massachusetts Historical Commission has awarded a Massachusetts Preservation Fund Matching Grant of $50,000 for their restoration.  The grant will provide half of the total project cost of $100,000, but only if the Music Hall Board of Trustees can raise the other half.

Your purchase of the MMMH Collectible will help meet the critical goal of $50,000 to secure the matching grant and restore the structures for the enjoyment and admiration of future generations.

The collectible is available at the Music Hall during Music Hall events at a price of $19.95 each.  It is also available by mail order at $25.00 each, postpaid by First Class Mail.
